Avril Lavigne - Nobody's Home (Alternative Version [Official & Unreleased]

Posted on youtube just last night...

"Avril Lavigne - 'Nobody's Home' Alternative Version. (New Scenes!) Amazing! 2010.
{[tags] Music Video Official Song Full Real}"

On Avril Bandaids, only one member says she has seen it before. That's one out of 18 members who've commented so far.
To everyone else, this is brand new. (That one member who claims to have seen it, is from Singapore. Maybe she saw it on a bootleg?)

I've never seen this version. For me it's a very fine find.

Wow. This is powerful. I am overwhelmed with emotion...

As it is I think 'Nobody's Home' is THE song of the last decade. It just about gets to me every time I hear it. So there's that.

SPOILER ALERT:
This is a spoiler alert.
Skip on down till after the first screencap,
to pass by my detailed review of the video.

The scenes with the musicians are more intense in the originally-released, old-movie-effect version. Makes it look more like Hollywood, like make-believe. So it draws a sharper contrast to the scenes on the street. However, with the alt video presenting the musicians in full color, Avril the singer-character looks more radiant.

Each version offers a different moving scene with a mother. I think the originally-released version is stronger because the mother shows up at the end, it is Avril the street-character's own mother, and she hangs up the phone on her kid. That makes for the single most dramatic moment of all.

However, I do prefer how the bathroom scene is edited in this alt version. To me that is what makes the alt version truly worthy. It is such a brilliant compliment to the climax of the song. There are new, strikingly intense shots added, even though the scene here is shorter and more compressed. Avril sings and pulls at her hair all at once. 'She's all over the place/ Yeah!' That scene cuts deeper here, kills me now even more.

My guess is this file is a rejected, early edit of the NH music video. There are no titles or credits at the start or the end of the video. So this version has never been officially released for TV.

Overall, there is not a huge difference between the two versions. But the alt version certainly offers enough vive la différence!
to demand attention. I may perhaps like the released version more, but the alt version is a close, intense second.

Get ready to experience NH for the first time all over again. Let us know what you think.

The video comes with special thanks to lu_whenyourgone and Lirvamich. Just what the backstory is to this video being released at this time, has not been revealed.

The file is of good quality. There is a logo (from 'The BsChile' - not a TV station, but a youtube video uploader). The audio is just decent. It has a washed-out effect (if only it were better - if only a better upload would become available). But the picture, which is what is different, is what counts, is pretty sharp.
